Categorising invoices: what the Accounting Support agent does for you
The same pile arrives every month: invoices that need to be sorted, categorised and prepared for the bookkeeping. It isn't complicated work, but it is work that sits there until it can't wait any longer.
The Accounting Support agent in the Stilops portal is made for exactly this. You hand it a pile of invoices, whether scanned, emailed or delivered one by one, and it works out what is on them: supplier, amount, category, VAT rate. After that, the same mechanism follows as with every other task in Stilops.
First a proposal: the agent shows how it wants to categorise the invoices, and why. Then a test run: you see the result as if it had already been recorded, without anything actually changing. Only when you give your approval is it carried out for real. If a category isn't right, you reject the test run and adjust the proposal. That costs you nothing from your quota.
What this delivers is not that the work disappears. It is that the work gets a fixed place: no longer squeezed in between other tasks, but at a moment you choose to review it. The agent does the sorting, and you remain the one who has the final say over what ends up in the bookkeeping.
That final say is not a formality. An agent that categorises invoices can misjudge a borderline case: a mixed invoice, a missing VAT number, a supplier that hasn't appeared before. That is exactly why the test run exists: not to convince you that everything is fine, but to let you check it yourself before it counts.
Accounting Support is one of the agent roles in the catalogue of the customer portal, with a fixed monthly price and a fixed number of tasks included. In the coming weeks we will show a different role here each time: what it does, and what it delivers.
